Activated Sludge Process

Excellent Enviro offers a range of advanced wastewater treatment technologies, each designed for maximum efficiency and reliability. Here are some of our key processes.

ETP and STP

Conventional Activated Sludge Process

In this process, wastewater treatment is carried out with the help of suspended bacteria present in the aeration tank. For the survival of the bacteria, air is blown through an air blower. This is a time-tested method for effective biological treatment.

Moving Bed Bio Reactor (MBBR)

This process improves reliability, simplifies operation, and requires less space than conventional wastewater treatment systems. MBBR technology employs biofilm carriers that operate in mixed motion within an aerated wastewater treatment tank. This media increases the surface area to support the growth of bacteria. The high-density population of bacteria achieves high-rate biodegradation while offering process reliability and ease of operation. This technology provides cost-effective treatment with minimal maintenance as the MBBR process self-maintains an optimum level of productive biofilm. Additionally, the biofilm attached to the mobile biocarriers within the system automatically responds to load fluctuations.

Membrane BioReactor (MBR)

MBR systems offer several operational and economic advantages compared to conventional wastewater treatment plants. It is a combination of a membrane process, such as microfiltration or ultrafiltration, with a suspended growth bioreactor. MBR is based on biological treatment followed by membrane separation. The system comprises an intense activated sludge process with the biomass separation stage carried out by membrane cassettes located outside the aeration tank in a separate membrane tank. This allows for a very high biomass (MLSS) concentration.

Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR)

SBR is a **Sequential Batch Reactor** process that provides the highest treatment efficiency possible in a single-step biological process. The SBR system is operated in a batch reactor mode, which eliminates the inefficiencies of a continuous process. A batch reactor is a perfect reactor that ensures 100% treatment. Two modules are provided to ensure continuous treatment. The complete process takes place in a single reactor, within which all biological treatment steps occur sequentially. No additional settling unit or secondary clarifier is required! The complete biological operation is divided into cycles, with each cycle lasting 3-5 hours, consisting of the following phases:

  • Fill Phase
  • Aeration Phase
  • Settlement Phase
  • Decanting Phase
